Writing at the intersection of reality and enchantment
My writing exists in a sub-genre of magical realism that asks deep questions about spirituality and the enchanted universe. I look at the world from another face of the icosahedron, trying to see around the corners to what is really there. Sometimes it's Saint Michael slaying a dragon for a little boy, sometimes it's a particular lion purring in the lap of his saintly friend. Sometimes it's a reflection on how education is all about stories.
I have SO many stories to tell you.

Read my latest!
My newest work, Patterns for Life: An Orthodox Reflection on Charlotte Mason Education, is now available to order!
This book is part condensed explanation of Charlotte Mason's educational philosophy, part integration of pedagogy with the Orthodox phronema, and part memoir of a particular kind of home education experience. Co-authored with fellow Orthodox home-educating mother, Lisa Rose, this monograph serves to introduce Charlotte Mason education to Orthodox families, and Orthodoxy to Charlotte Mason families. It is a weaving of two worlds that were meant for each other... This is the book to read if you're looking to invigorate and interweave your children's educational and spiritual experiences, regardless of the faith you practice or where you educate your children. |
